You can't judge a book
by its cover
but you can
judge it by its index

I am a professional indexer, specialising in academic books on development studies and geography, with an emphasis on African studies, but with experience of indexing many different subjects, including archaeology, art history, geology, sociology and other humanities-based topics.

I have indexed over 400 books since I began indexing in 1994, averaging about 30 per year.

I take pride in producing accurate, comprehensive, yet succinct indexes that guide the reader to the place they are looking for in the text. A well-written book is greatly enhanced by a well-written index. Even a badly-written book can have the important points emphasised by a good index, and I have had much experience of both well- and badly-written books.
