You can't judge a book by its cover but you can judge it by its index I am a professional indexer, specialising in academic books on development studies and geography, with an emphasis on African studies. I also have experience of indexing many different subjects, including archaeology, art history, geology, sociology and other humanities-based topics. Since I began indexing in 1994, I have indexed over 400 books, averaging about 30 per year. A well-written book is greatly enhanced by a well-written index. I take pride in producing accurate, comprehensive, yet succinct indexes that guide the reader to the place they are looking for in the text.
